JBT – these are wild rainbows, one of a very few natural populations in the UK. They came over in about 1890 from America (possibly from a different catchment than the usual Shasta farm strain). After escaping into the river in 1909 they have bred wild ever since

Isn’t there any natural trout fishing left ? A spot like this should have brownies, not rainbows. Disappointing
